Arrowroot is a large perennial herb found in rainforest habitats.  It is commonly used as a thickening agent and can be used as a direct replacement for cornstarch.  There is no flavour on its own and it is the easiest starch to digest.  


Suggested Use

    • Can be used to thicken soups, sauces and puddings
    • Also an excellent ingredient for gluten free baking or breading - can give a softer and lighter texture to cakes adn breads
    • Best used at the end of your cooking just before boiling
    • For sauces, add into some cool liquid first and then whisk into hot liquids
    • Can be used to add into homemade ice cream to stop ice crystals from forming
    • As an egg replacer
